MAC PURE ZEN

Looking for a new lipstick shade that is just perfect for spring/summer? I think I have found mine.

MAC Pure Zen is originally from the asian inspired lipstick collection 'Cremesheen + Pearl' but luckily for me, it was chosen to go into the permanent colours. Pure Zen by MAC is described as a frosted warm nude on the official website, and is listed under the cremesheen finishes. I like that the peach/nude colour applies relatively opaque with a slight shine. I would say that the colour is more shimmery in the bullet than when it is transferred onto the lips - for me this is a good thing as I have never been fond of glittery lips!

What I like about the cremesheen finish from MAC is that they apply like a creme lipstick which feels moisturising on my lips. I have heard others say that they find it drying but I have not found this to be the case - especially when compared to MACs matte lipstick formula. The only downfall is that I find that for full-coverage the lipstick maybe lasts for 2 hours before needing reapplied, maybe slightly longer if you are careful when eating or drinking. I personally find that the colour does not shift too much, and with the help of a lip liner it is even better. Overall, this is a nude lipstick winner. It isn't too pink, and gives your lips a radiant glow without losing the pigmentation of the colour. Then there is the added bonus of the name: Pure Zen. Just reading the name of the lipstick reminds me to clear my mind during a busy day which is pretty darn awesome.
