BEAUTY FAILS IN MY TEENS

Hello everyone! I am finally back in full action with the blog posts scheduled and everything! I know look at me being all organised, and all that. For anyone keeping up with me on social media they will know I turned 20 earlier in the month, and it has got me reflecting on all my beauty fails over the last 10 years of my life. (And oh dear, cringe.) I thought it would be quite a good light-hearted way to start posting more regularly again, and y'all can have a giggle with me in the process.
Avant Garde Make Up.. for casual wear!
When I was 13 I would spent my weekends experimenting with make-up in the name of Bebo pictures. Yes I was THAT cool. The experimenting was fine really, everybody goes through phases in their teens. In fact not too much has changed with the uploading pictures online. I mean, this is what this space has ended using being using for. But the bright eye colours that filled half of my face no-so-much. I used to wear a red superhero red eyeshadow mask to school, and go outside with mental eye-liner looks at the weekend. There is absolutely nothing wrong with rocking an alternative look - I still love my winged eyeliner but, learning that there is a time and a place for those extra dramatic make up looks has definitely been a benefit of getting older.

Bows, Bows and Bows everywhere.
There is nothing wrong with having a bow or two in your hair. But having five bows that are just sitting about the front of your face not really doing anything isn't the best look I have gone for. Yup, less is more in this case.

Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse + Foundation Lips
Although, I did not go the whole orange face and white neck thing I did use the famous Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse like nearly every other girl in my age group. Why we thought that is was a good look I have no idea! It should be renamed matte and flat mouse. This foundation (in light porcelain of course) picked up on all of my dry skin patches and just gave me that ghostly look - no wonder I always look tired. To top it off I would add some foundation onto my lips some days because they were not 'pale enough' which made me look extra dead. Ohhh the regret.
These days I'm all about radiant dewy glows and contouring. I think I will venture back into matte foundations but maybe stick with contouring & some blush too.

Overplucked eyebrows
Ulgh, when I was much younger having thick eyebrows wasn't cool, but I think I went too far the opposite way. For a long time I basically had eyebrows with a thick start then a row of hairs at the arch and ends. It has taken me forever to try and grow them back to a regular shape - a shape that actually compliments my face. Lesson to any young teens out there don't over-pluck your eyebrows it's more effort than what it is worth! Instead try and tidy them instead of reshaping them.

(Massive) Side Swept Fringe or 'scene kid bangs'.
This was the biggest pain of my life when I was 14. It just would not sit in place. I wonder if it had anything to do with, y'know, gravity! Honestly teenage Corinne, what were you thinking?!
I literally parted my hair the furtherest I could get to the side of my head and pulled my fringe right over and across my face. It would always split and fall into my eyes, and would use half a can of hairspray to set the fringe in place and backcomb my hair in the morning. It was no wonder that my hair was so damaged whilst I was growing up. If you have a massively heavy side swept fringe that 'the hairdresser just can't cut right' and is constantly falling down into your eyes - it is probably because it isn't a natural way for hair to sit.

Have you guys got any teenage beauty fails that you just cringe thinking about? Please comment and tell me!

Not exactly the response I was aiming for, but let the past beauty blunders stay in the past! You live, you learn x
