TRIAL | MAKEUP REVOLUTION

Makeup Revolution have really been kicking ass in the budget beauty world for some time now. They are known for having high-quality products for the amazing value of under £10 for every product. Their high-end dupes such as the iconic palettes are not only budget friendly but seem to be spot on when comparison to the cult product Naked and Lorac palettes.
So when my local Superdrug finally product a section for this brand in store I couldn't help but give the some products a try!
Since I already own every naked palette, I settled on trying out original products. I picked up; Salvation Eyeshadow Palette Welcome to the Pleasuredome £6Ultra Blush Palette Golden Sugar £6 & the Amazing liquid eyeliner ultra black £1.50.

Welcome to the Pleasuredome
Pros:Overall there are 18 shades, which for £6 is amazing value for money. There are lovely jewel tones and neutrals - giving numerous colour combinations for daytime and nighttime looks. For years, I have steered away from coloured eyeshadows but on occasion it is nice to have fun with pops of colour. The eyeshadows also have different finishes in the collection:  mattes and shimmer. In my experience when given a cheap eyeshadow set with numerous shades the colour payoff is naff, but this is not the case at all with this palette - they are easy to blend and a couple of swipes are all you need.
Cons: I find no use for the eyeshadow brush included in the set as I never apply with sponge tip applicators as they tend to be poor quality. I also dislike the plastic sheets with the names of the shadows printed on it - it is quite easy to lose - most likely a money-saving move by the brand.

Golden Sugar
Pros: There are a few pretty highlight shades in the palette, and I usually struggle to find a highlight which I really like. There are also many options for the bronzer. Good value for money.
Cons: I'm personally not so keen on shimmery bronzers but this is all personal choice.

Ultra Black
I was really curious to see if a £1.50 liquid eyeliner would be any match for my all time favourite by Benefit. I absolutely adore the Magic Ink Liquid Eyeliner and cannot see past it, but I'm always on the lookout for cheaper alternatives.
Pros: The liquid was very dark, and I did not need to repeat layers during the application. The staying power of the product was amazing for my slightly hooded eyes.
Cons: I really did not like the nip on the applicator. I thought it was very hard with a sharp end which felt like scratching along my eyelid for precise application. On second trial I found that the only way to avoid this was to apply a thicker line using the side of the nip.

What are your thoughts on makeup revolution? I really liked the palettes that I tried out.

I've picked up a few things from Make Up Revolution in the past but keep meaning to try more! My local Superdrug is so poorly stocked which is really frustrating as I don't really like buying makeup online. Some of the colours in the eyeshadow palette are gorgeous, I don't know if I'd be brave enough to wear any of the brighter shades though! xx

I definitely prefer being able to swatch products in person before purchasing! I was shocked when I walked into my local superdrug and saw a small section for Make Up Revolution! x

Seeing Make up Revolution everywhere at the mo! They seem to be great value for money. Always worth trying cheaper brands because you might find something you love! Unfortunately I'll have to order online from Superdrug (damn island life) which isn't the easiest when buying make up!

But it also gives you the excuse to go wild when you come to the mainland every once in awhile! x
