URBAN DECAY NAKED PALETTE 2

Hey guys, I wanted to share with you a review on a cult favourite - The Urban Decay Naked Palette 2. After not really ever seeing a bad review on this product I thought I would join the band waggon. I choose number 2 out of the set of 3. The original Naked Palette is more warm bronzed based eye shadows, whilst number 3 is more pinky hues. I went for number 2 as it was more taupe which I thought would compliment my pale skin tone!
The Naked Palette 2 comes in beautiful packing with the box displaying each colour from the palette. Inside this box is a fantastic metal case. This should be great for travelling as it will protect the eyeshadows inside. There is also a mirror which is great for times of makeup emergencies such as train applications etc, as I would usually use my full length or vanity mirror at home. I bought this palette a while back when House of Fraser were offering £10 off on special products. The RRP is £37.00.

There are 12 different shades; a mix of matte, shimmer and glitter. I know shimmer and glitter are not for everyone, however, I would use my benefit beautiful eye palette for a more non-sparkly day-to-day look. I took the picture of the swatches under natural light and did not edit the picture at all. This was so you guys could properly see what exactly the shades look like. I later found inside the cardboard box a packet of urban decay primer samples including; Original, Sin, Eden and Anti-Ageing. From the other several million reviews of this product, I saw that it used to come with a lip gloss however Urban Decay have replaced this with primer samples.

First up is the highlighting shade Foxy, which as you can see is almost the same colour as my skin! Foxy is a matte cream colour with yellow undertones. I guess it can also be called Corinne's skin colour since this was the only shadow that took more than 3 strokes from the palette to appear brightly on my skin hehe.
Next is Half Baked and as I understand it is one of the most popular colours from the original palette. It is a shimmery gold colour. I would say this is one of the warmer colours from the palette, and you can see in the picture above it gives a good colour pay off.
The name of the third eyeshadow made me giggle. Bootycall is a beautiful pearl colour with a light shimmer. When it was inside the palette I thought it would be matte but it seems to have a bit of a shimmer on the skin.
Chopper is a rose gold colour with copper shimmer. It is really pretty and is a fantastic colour for across the lids. This is the warmest colour in this palette.

The fifth eye shadow, Tease, is an interesting shade - a purple hue taupe with a matte finish. I think it will be crease for the crease of the eyes and will compliment the colour of my blue-green eyes.
Snakebite is a very pigmented medium brown with a satin finish. I think this is a very versatile shade and will go perfectly with most other colours in the palette.
Suspect is also very versatile. It is a light champagne colour with a taupe undertone. It has a beautiful frosted sheen, and will be great for a lid colour. It  could be said that it is similar to Half Baked but I think it is less golden and more beige.
Next is one of my favourites out of the set. Pistol is a warm grey with a shimmery finish which will be great for a smokey evening look.

I am obsessed with the colour Verve. It is silver with a light pink hue. It just looks really pretty on my pale skin tone and I think it is a little bit different. I would probably use this as an inner lid colour.
Next is one of Urban Decay's best-selling singular pots -YDK. It is a red-toned medium brown with a silver sheen. Very pretty indeed.
Then there is Busted, a shimmery dark plum brown with golden undertones. This is a great crease shade for blending.
And finally, Blackout a pure matte black shade. I do love a great pigmented black eyeshadow. I think I will use this for setting eyeliner.

A fantastic drugstore dupe for this palette is MUA undress me too palette at only £4.00 with very similar shades. MUA is very pigmented, however, MUA has more fallout. It also comes with a double-ended sponge brush which definitely is not comparable to the synthetic brush that Urban Decay provide in the Naked 2 Palette. I would say if you have the spare cash then the Naked 2 Palette is worth it, however if you love the shades but are skint then the undress me too palette is a good plan B. What I love most about these shades is how interchangeable the mix up of colours can be, there are many shades that match each other perfectly, and so, you can experiment with what suits you.
