HOW TO GET ROSE GOLD HAIR

It's the new colour featured all over Pinterest 'Rose Gold' (and coincidentally the colour I decided to rock over the summer when I fancied a change from my spring silver & lavender locks.) In essence rose gold hair is a peachy pastel colour that can look oddly natural under certain light. I'm loving the low maintenance of splashing some top-up colour ever-so often, with maintaining warm tones in my hair for summer. I guess it is something a bit different, and I love it.
As the popularity of the pastel peach grows I thought I'd share with y'all how I got my locks to this cute shade!

LOVING THE LOB

If you follow me on social media you will know that I cut my hair short. Well, it isn't that short - it's a long bob if anything, but it is short for me! I haven't had my hair above my shoulders in over 10 years, and was always an ambassador of the longer the hair the better. I still got my hair cut, but never ever above the collarbone. 'Only an inch off,' hairdresser please. But after years of bleaching, changing colours and heat damage I decided that actually the healthier the hair the better. If I'm making the effort to create pretty 'rose gold' colour, I want my hair to look good.
Healthy hair will always look better in any haircut, so I decided that with the arrival of summer and the numerous shorter hairstyles that have been drawing me in on Pinterest there was no time like the present to cut off that pony! I never expected to love short hair on myself this much. Years ago one my best friends told me that I would really suit short hair and my answer was along the lines of pah hah! Yep, I'm incredibly sorry. You were right chick.
Having my lob is the laziest hairstyle ever, and it has that classic I just rolled out of bed and look great look. Probably because I literally have just crawled out of bed, brushed my hair and sprayed some texturising spray through it. I'm surprisingly happy with my new shorter do and I am absolutely loving just how effortless it is!

If anyone is thinking of getting a shorter haircut for summer - go for it! Just bring along a picture of what you are after to show your hairdresser, so that they get a rough idea of what you are wanting.

OH LA SCOTTISH SUMMER

Anyone that has experienced summer weather up in Scotland will know you have to be prepared for a good old mix. Sometimes it is hot, sometimes it rains ALOT, and then there is the wind too. But us Scots can't let the weather get us down! We just need a range of suitable clothing, just like the old saying "there's no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes!".
